about Balzo Communications...
A book or company
is only as good
as its publicist...
or vice versa...I forget...

Sandy Balzo specializes in public relations and writing, with an emphasis on book publicity. Before forming her own company, Balzo was assistant vice president and manager of special events for Firstar Corporation. The year her musical director was shot the night before a performance and a set of drums rolled off the stage DURING a performance, she decided it was time to call it quits. Besides, the talent pool available to her was dwindling. She formed Balzo Communications in 1995, and hasn't hurt anyone since.

What clients and the media say about Balzo Communications:
"When Sandy sends me something, I make sure it goes straight to the top of my pile. She has a good eye and I know it will be worth my while."
-Daniel Greenberg,
Agent, James Levine Communications, Inc.
"Despite common belief, there is a ton of opportunity out there for individuals and companies to gain exposure through the different forms of media. Unfortunately, it takes a knowledge of how each particular media form works. Sandy Balzo has that knowledge, and she has shown over the years the ability to use it in her client's absolute best interests."
-Mark Sabljak,
Publisher, The Business Journal
"Sandy has been an invaluable resource to our company and an absolute joy to work with. Her highly advanced writing, public relations and marketing skills enable her to achieve truly extraordinary business results. I recommend Sandy highly and without reservation.
-John McKearn,
President, J.D. Chamberlain, Ltd.
"I am always amazed and impressed with the creative ways that Sandy finds to 'get the word out'. I can always count on her to follow through on her ideas and contacts. She gets results!"
-Susan Pittelman,
Printstar Books
"Sandy Balzo is a consummate professional. My favorite things about her? She really LISTENS, follows through impeccably, keeps her clients informed at every juncture, has a really warped sense of humor, and here's the best--tries to bring projects in UNDER budget. When is the last time you heard of someone who does that?"
-Aileen Schumacher,
Anthony Award-nominated Author
"Sandy Balzo has the attitude to make "it" work. She has good common sense and a portfolio of experience to make her fearless. Being undeterred is a secret to succeeding in publicity, because you will never know just where the next opportunity will appear. Sandy has got all that, and more.
-John Whitcomb, MD,
Author of "Capitate Your Kids"
"I have worked with many publicists in my radio career, both from publishing and movies, and Sandy Balzo is near the top in intelligence, creative energy, and personal integrity. She helped my fledgling career immeasurably, and I am grateful for her friendship."
-Ed Goldberg,
Shamus Award-winning Author
"I've always found Sandy professional, punctual, efficient, and helpful."
-Leslie Lapides,
Knight-Ridder
"The experience was first-rate. Not only did Sandy fulfill the agreed-to work, her experience was extremely valuable in guiding me. I was surprised and pleased with the dispatch she demonstrated, the meticulous care and organization of her record keeping, and the frank realism she showed. Although she was working to specified contractual terms, she made every effort to control her costs and yet complete the necessary tasks. Working with Sandy was a successful, pleasant experience and I recommend her expertise and professionalism without hesitation.
-C.W. Brookins,
Author
"Sandy's media contacts really paid off for me. I got exposure in all the papers in the area, as well as a full page article (with photo) in a magazine. Equally important, though, is her ability to turn a clever, catchy phrase in her press releases. This makes her clients stand out among others contending for attention."

Attorney and Award-winning Author
